Mr. Al Dawkins – Assistant Headmaster
A native of Lincolnton, GA, Mr. Al Dawkins graduated from Lincoln County High School in 2002. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science Education from Emmanuel College in 2006 and a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from Augusta University in 2021. Mr. Dawkins began his teaching career at Washington-Wilkes Middle School in 2006. While at WWMS, he taught 6th and 8th grade social studies. He was chosen as the WWMS Teacher of the Year in 2010. Mr. Dawkins came to Briarwood in 2015 as a middle and high school history teacher. While teaching at Briarwood, he started the AP United States History and AP Psychology classes at the school. He was also the sponsor for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) program. He assumed the role of Assistant Headmaster in 2019. He is married to Anna Campbell Dawkins, a 2003 Briarwood graduate. They have two children.
